⚙️ 10 SEO mistakes startups usually make - Startups need velociy, we already talked about it here. SEO is not their go-to idea as it’s slow (ie. against Paid) but in the end, it’s needed.
Because of that, there are a few mistakes startups usually do. Let’s see:
Starting SEO too late - You can get creative and grow fast with SEO. It’s not always going to be slow.
Focusing on head keywords terms - Longtails can make A LOT. Have you seen G2s or Canva’s SEO strategy?
Churning out content
Lack of business direction - Let’s be honest. If you are pre-PMF it’s tough. But there are no excuses after that.

💻 Just test the extremes. You’ll move a lot faster - Remember, if you don’t move fast, if you keep working like you used to a few years ago, for you there’s a clear message: SEO is dead.
This is a fragment of what Lane Shackleton told Lenny Rachitsky. Actually, it’s what Phil Farhi taught to Lane. But you get the idea, right?

💻 Agency SEO Careers in a Commoditized Market - You still offering generalist SEO services? That’s like ‘digital marketing agency’ back in 2014. You need to narrow down hard, and you have a few options.
You can narrow down:
By Industry
By business type
By technology
By region
By service
If you combine at least two of those, you’ll conquer. That’s not us stating that, that’s statistics. The same statistics saying that there are 200+ ranking factors.
So that would be all for today. Thanks for reading. I’ll leave you with a quick NPS poll. Because what is not measured, cannot be improved.
